There are two way to make tank frame,
one by using 8mm rods
with 6 X 6 inc gap, this will be
quite heavy-duty frame and provide good strength to the tank.
Another way to make a farm is by using mesh available in the market also used in the poultry frame. This could also be a good solution and probably the cheaper one. This frame could not be as strong as one using the 8mm rod, but this will also do the job.
Now when the frame is done up to
your satisfaction, cover the inside of the frame with fiber sheets or thick
tarpaulin to protect tarpaulin tank from any kind of possible cut or damage
from iron mesh or rods. Use thick enough sheet to protect the tarpaulin of the tank to
prevent any direct contact with the iron mesh or rods of the frame. You can also use fiber
sheets that are used in shades or any type of durable thick tarpaulin will do.
After making sure that the tarpaulin
tank will be protected from any damage from iron mesh, install the tank in the
frame.
What would be the recommended thickness of Biofloc tarpaulin tank?
-You can use tarpaulin 350 GSM -450
GSM or higher.
Well done! Your first Biofloc tank
is installed, but it is not yet ready for use. Fill half of the tank with freshwater and leave it for a day to check for any change of leakage. Then check how well the drainage outlet is working.
How long it takes to set up a Biofloc tank?
-It could take
up to 3 days to set up the tank.
But floc generation will take much
longer, that we will cover in another topic.
